At 09:10 a clash broke out when KIA soldiers led by Sergeant Bawk La from 9th Battalion fired a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) first at Burma Army troops of unknown unit in 5 military trucks coming from Kuthkai, northern Shan State.
